PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Jeff Kaste (Atkinson, N.H.), junior Ashley Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) and sophomore Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) each turned in a pair of top-10 finishes to lead the University of New Hampshire outdoor track and field teams at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Weaver Stadium.

Kaste finished sixth in the hammer throw with an NCAA Regional-qualifying toss of 56.95 meters. Sophomore Paul DeTurk (Durham, N.H.) was 10th at 55.35 meters.  Kaste also finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 15.45 meters. Sophomore Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) was second in the event with an NCAA Regional-qualifying mark of 17.27 meters.

Lathrop, meanwhile, broke her own school record in the hammer throw, finishing second with a toss of 51.09 meters. Lathrop was also sixth in the discus with a throw of 38.86 meters.

Quarles submitted a second-place finish in the triple jump with an ECAC Championship-qualifying leap of 12.00 meters. Quarles was also 10th in the long jump with a mark of 5.18 meters.

Back on the men’s side, senior Spencer Shaw (Hampton, N.H.) and junior Frank Radlof (Milford, N.H.) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the long jump with leaps of 7.06 and 7.02 meters.

Senior Patrick Casey (South Yarmouth, Mass.) was fifth in the high jump after submitting a mark of 1.98 meters.

In the javelin, junior Chris Morgan (Goffstown, N.H.) and sophomore Mike Simon (Durham, Conn.) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, with throws of 56.94 and 55.80 meters.

Senior David Dreyer (LeRoy, N.Y.) finished 13th in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.40 meters.

On the track, junior Will Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.) handed in a pair of solid performances, finishing ninth in the 200 in a time of 21.94 seconds, and 16th in the 400 meters in 49.62 seconds.

Senior Bobby Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.) was 14th in the 1500 meters in a time of three minutes, 50.81 seconds.

In the 5000 meters, senior Nick Decrescenzo (New Milford, Conn.) and junior Wesley Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) finished 25th and 28th, respectively in times of 14:48.46 and 14:51.15.

Junior Joshua Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) was 34th in the 800 in 1:54.50.

The Wildcats return to action Tuesday, April 21 at 2 p.m. when they take on Holy Cross and Rhode Island at Hart Track in Worcester, Mass.
