Hanover, N.H.-- The UNH Wildcat women's track and field team traveled to Hanover, N.H. for the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday. The Wildcats finished with a number of top ten finishes including six first places.
Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) had a dominant performance for the Wildcats by taking home the top spot in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.46 seconds, she also finished first in the shot put with a winning throw of 38'06.75", besting the second place finisher by more than two feet. She completed her trifecta of first places in the javelin with a throw of 128'01.00". Knight's teammate Tricia Tessier finished second in the javelin with a 118'01.00" effort. Alicia Anderson (Orleans, Mass.) finished first in the high jump by leaping 5'02.25". Other Wildcat winners included Elizabeth Moore (Lyme, N.H.) in the 400m hurdles finishing in 1:06.88 defeating the second place finisher by over a second. Heidi Flanders (Richmond, N.H.) conquered the 400m field in a time of 1:01.06. Flanders also finished second in the 200m with her time of 26.46.
Other top Wildcat finishers included Andrea Mellen (Dedham, Mass.) finished second in the triple jump with a 35'10.00" effort. Emily Ferry (Ellington, Conn.) finished third in the 1,500m (4:48.18). In the 100m Tracy Lambert (Barnstead, N.H.) finished in 13.52 placing her third. In the pole vault Holly Spotts and Krysta Kenyon (Plainfield, N.H.) finished second and third with respective heights of 10'00".00 and 9'06.25".
The Wildcats begin post-season action on May 6 as they travel to Northeastern for the America East Championships
