ALLSTON, Mass. – Junior Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) used a first-place finish to lead the University of New Hampshire women’s indoor track and field team as it placed fourth at the Harvard Select Meet at the Gordon Track and Tennis Center.

The Wildcats’ 65 points were not enough to overcome the totals of Cornell (181), Brown (115) and Harvard (95).

Ciambra won the pole vault with an ECAC Championship-qualifying mark of 3.65 meters.

Sophomore Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) placed second in the triple jump with an ECAC Championship-qualifying leap of 11.74 meters. Freshman Eliza Mackintosh (Hanover, N.H.) finished third at 11.24 meters. Junior Esperence Ndombe (Manchester, N.H.) and freshman Danica Goodheart (Meredith, N.H.) were fifth and sixth, respectively at 11.10 and 10.86 meters. Quarles also finished fifth in the long jump at 5.37 meters. Mackintosh was seventh with a mark of 5.23 meters.

Junior Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 15.96 meters. Senior Erica Desroches (Stratham, N.H.) was fifth at 14.58 meters. Desroches and Lathrop placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the shot put with throws of 11.64 and 11.28 meters.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.) finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters.

In the 4x400 meter relay, the Wildcats were fifth in a time of four minutes, 7.85 seconds. In the distance medley, the ‘Cats placed fourth in 12:27.88.

Sophomore Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) finished fourth in the mile with a 5:04.01 showing.

In the 60 meters, sophomore Meghan McGrath (Merrimack, N.H.) and junior Kristina Brennan (Lexington, Mass.) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, finishing in times of 8.22 and 8.35 seconds.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday Feb. 7 at noon in a tri-meet with Dartmouth and Vermont at the Leverone Field House in Hanover, N.H.
