– Senior captain Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) was one of four athletes to win an event for the University of New Hampshire women’s indoor track and field team as they placed second at the University of Rhode Island Mega Meet on Feb. 2 at Mackal Field House.
The Wildcats’ 175 points were not enough to top URI (249.50), but were more than enough to get by the University of Massachusetts (131.5), Quinnipiac University (48), Central Connecticut State University (19), Rhode Island College (15) and Bryant University (12).

Haley won the 1,000 meters in a time of two minutes, 57.11 seconds, a performance that qualified her for the ECAC Championships. Freshmen Lindsey Jeltes (Oakland, N.J.) and Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) and junior Elizabeth Morrissey (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) finished in third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
