KINGSTON, R.I. – Senior Amy Roccio (Beverly, Mass.) tallied 3,132 points to place third and lead an excellent University of New Hampshire women's indoor track and field team showing at the University of Rhode Island Pentathlon on Friday at Mackal Field House. Roccio was one of five Wildcats to place in the top 10.

Roccio posted a time of 9.42 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles, had a 1.58 meter jump in the high jump, recorded a distance of 9.09 meters in the shot put, submitted a 4.87 meter mark in the long jump, and finished the 800 meter run in a time of two minutes, 37.53 seconds.

Behind Roccio were freshmen Kaitlyn Dugan and Megan Donohue, and sophomore Kelly Thomas (Chichester, N.H.), finishing fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Dugan recorded 2,999 points, Donohue notched 2,944 points and Thomas compiled 2,927 points. Senior Kathleen Hoppe (Hopkinton, Mass.) finished 10th with 2,770 points.

Roccio had the high mark for UNH in the first three events, tying in the high jump with Dugan. Dugan owned the best mark for the long jump in the entire meet, recording a distance of 5.16 meters. Thomas was the fastest Wildcat in the 800, finishing in a time of 2:27.04

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Jan. 19 when they host UMass and Holy Cross in their first dual meet of the season at the Paul Sweet Oval at 11 a.m.
