WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD AWARDED AMERICA EAST ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM HONORS

BOSTON — The University of New Hampshire women’s indoor track and field team placed four student-athletes on the America East Conference All-Academic Team for their achievements academically and athletically. The awards were announced on Thursday (February 22).
Senior Erin Moore (Nashua, N.H.) finished second in both the shot put (42-9) and in the weight throw (50-1.25) en route to scoring 16 points at the conference championships in which the Wildcats placed third overall. Junior Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) raced to a second place finish in the 1000-meter run (2:53.53). Sophomore Carolyn Durfee (Laconia, N.H.) helped lead the distance medley relay team to an overall second place finish, while classmate Danielle Blais (Holliston, Mass.) earned a third place finish in the weight throw (50-0.75).
The All-Academic Team was selected based on the student-athlete’s academic and athletic accomplishments. Academic achievement for consideration requires student-athletes to have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 entering the season. Athletic accomplishment standards vary between team sports and individual sports. For track & field, student-athletes are required to be a top-three finisher at the conference championship meet.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday (Feb. 23) as they compete at the New England Championships in Boston, Massachusetts.
