DURHAM, N.H. – senior thrower
Erin Moore (Nashua, N.H.) tallied two first places finishes in the shot put and weight throw to lift the University of New Hampshire women’s indoor track and field team to a 94-80 win over rival University of Maine on Saturday.
Moore won the shot put with a heave of 13.14 meters and won the weight throw with a distance of 15.43 meters, as she was one of five Wildcats to earn top finishes in their respective events.
Junior hurdler
Kiah Quarles (Derry, N.H.) raced to a first place in the 55-hurdles (8.66) and placed second in the long jump (5.12 meters). Junior
Amy Roccio (Beverly, Mass.) notched a first place finish in the high jump (1.58 meters) and freshman
Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) posted a first in the pole vault (3.20 meters).
In the distance events, junior
Rebecca Haley (Dover, N.H.) cruised to a first place in the mile run (5:12.17), while teammate
Nicole Whalen (Warwick, N.Y.) posted a win in the 3000 meters (10:40,86). The UNH 4X400 relay team was also victorious on the afternoon (4:09.61).
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday (Jan. 13) with a visit to Dartmouth College.
