UNH Women’s Track Fifth at URI Invitational

DURHAM, N.H. — The University of New Hampshire track team fifth at the 12-team URI Invitational at University of Rhode Island’s Mackal Field House on Saturday.

Katie Litwinowich (Holden, Mass.) led the way for the Wildcats with a first-place finish in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.57. Teammate Leighann Carpenter (Princeton, Mass.) also had an impressive day in the 800m, taking third with a time of 2:15.18.

Kristin Meisner (Nashua, N.H.) was fourth in the 500m dash (1:17.41). Megan Hepp (Milton, Vt.) was fifth in the mile (5:04.71) and Chloe Harry (Tyler, Tx.) was fourth in the high jump (1.65 meters).

The University of Connecticut won the meet with a score of 185.25 points. Host URI was second with 133.25 points, followed by Bucknell University (98.58), Brown University (86.25) and UNH (45.33).

The Wildcats return to action Feb. 14 when they host the University of Vermont at the Paul Sweet Oval. The America East Championships will be held at Boston University on Feb. 20 and 21.
