Boston, Mass.--University of New Hampshire runner Amy DeCamp (Londonderry,N.H.) led the UNH contingent at the ECAC championships this weekend in Boston. Georgetown University won the meet with 87 points, and although UNH only garnered two points the group led by DeCamp faired well. The mile run is the event that DeCamp held her own in, finishing in 7th place with a time of four minutes 55.01 seconds.
Other contributors for UNH included the distance medley relay team of Jamie Falcon (Shelburne Falls, Mass.), Valerie Williams (Merrimack, N.H.), Erin Fitzpatrick (Nashua, N.H.) and Emily Ferry (Ellington, Conn.) finished with a time of 12:07.09 good enough for 19th place. The pole vault trio of Paige Riff (Lancaster, N.H.), Shanna Mailloux (Bedford, Mass.) and Krysta Kenyon (Plainfield, N.H.) faired well with Riff and Mailloux both vaulting 10'06.00" in a tie for 15th place, while Kenyon's height of 10'00.00" was good enough for 24th.
The ECAC meet was the final meet before the NCAAs which are held at the University of Arkansas on March 10-11.
