Boston, Mass.--- The University of New Hampshire women's track and field team finished fourth at the America East Championships on Saturday. The Wildcats finished with 62 points, while host Boston University took home the championship with 162 points.
The Wildcats were led by Amy DeCamp (Londonderry, N.H.), who won the one mile run in four minutes, 49.8 seconds and finished third in the 800 meters (2:14.40). In the 400 meters, UNH’s Amy Czesnowski (Woodbridge, Conn.) finished third in a time of 58.30. Katie Litwinowich (Holden, Mass.) ran to a fourth place finish in the 1000 meters (2:58.91).
The Wildcat women had a solid effort in the field events as Alicia Anderson (Orleans, Mass.) 5’2.25" jump gave her a third-place finish in the high jump. In the women’s pole vault, even Shanna Mailloux (Bedford, Mass.), Krysta Kenyon (Plainfield, N.H.) and Paige Riff (Lancaster, N.H.) finished in a three way tie for third place at a height of 9’11.75". Nicole Wilkinson (Durham, N.H.) finished fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 46’ 1.50".
New Hampshire will next compete in the New England Championships at the University of Southern Maine on Feb. 26.
