PRINCETON, N.J. - Members of the University of New Hampshire men's and women's track and field teams competed in day one of Princeton University's Larry Ellis Invitational at Weaver Stadium, in Princeton, N.J.
Jumpp started things off for the Wildcats with a ninth-place finish in the hammer throw event. The senior measured a throw of 177 feet and 9 inches to take ninth.
Prizzi followed Jumpp by taking seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The junior distance runner logged a personal-record and school-record time of 8 minutes and 47.39 seconds to finish seventh.
The freshman-duo of Piazza and Poggi also competed on Friday, running the 800-meter event for the Wildcats. Piazza took 25th with a time of 1:52.67, while Poggi claimed 20th in 1:52.35.
Walsh claimed a 10th-place finish in the discus throw event. The senior measured a throw of 122 feet and 8 inches to earn the 10th spot. Twombly followed by earning 27th in the 1,500-meter event. The junior distance runner timed in at 4:38.88 in the race.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday afternoon for a pair of meets.
