HANOVER, N.H. - Senior Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) and freshman Melanie Frazier each won an event as the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track and field team competed at the open and non-scoring Dartmouth Indoor Classic at Leverone Field House.

Lathrop won the weight throw with a toss of 56 feet, 8.75 inches, while sophomore Melody Pothier (Lisbon, Conn.) was third at 46-11.50.

Frazier finished first in the long jump with a leap of 17-2.75, edging junior Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.), who was second with a mark of 17-2.25.

In the triple jump, sophomore Eliza Mackintosh (Hanover, N.H.) and senior Amanda Hutchins (Plymouth, N.H.) placed second and third, respectively, with leaps of 37-5.00 and 35-9.50.

On the track, the Wildcats' 4x200-meter relay team finished first in a time of one minute, 45.02 seconds. The 4x400 team was second at 3:59.29.

Senior Tayla Ryan (Norwood, Mass.) placed second in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in 9.09 seconds, just eight-hundredths of a second behind the winner.

Junior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) finished second in the 800 meters in 2:15.15.

Senior Tracy Howell (Grafton, Mass.) was also second in the 500 meters in a time of 1:18.17.

In the 60 meters, freshman Allison Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.), junior Chelsey Canavan (Stoneham, Mass.) and sophomore Elizabeth Adejuyigbe (Penacook, N.H.) finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in times of 8.01, 8.10 and 8.12 seconds. Canavan was also fourth in the 200 meters in 26.80 seconds, just seven-tenths of a second behind the winner. 

The Wildcats return to action Friday, Feb. 12 at the two-day BU Valentine Classic.
