UNH women's swim team earns national ranking

DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's swimming & diving team is ranked No. 11 in the nation, according to the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll that was released this week.

UNH is 5-0 this season and also won the five-team Bucknell Invitational last weekend. The Wildcats have a ranking of 228.90 and they are the only northeast school in the top 20.

Shannon Daly (Brightwaters, N.Y.) has been named Women's Swimming Performer of the Week by the America East conference twice this season and Melissa Lague (Salem, N.H.) has received that distinction once. In addition, diver Shana Dege (Lockport, N.Y.) has been a three-time recipient of the Women's Diving Performer of the Week award.

Rankings are based on each team's best dual meet lineup as submitted by participating teams. Rankings are announced four times throughout the season with the next reporting deadlines set for Jan. 24 (winter) and March 1 (post-conference).

New Hampshire returns to action Jan. 17 at home against Northeastern University. The action begins at 1 p.m. at Swasey Pool.
