Kelly Martin enters her 18th season as anassistant coach with the University of New Hampshire women’ssoccer program. A 1993 graduate of the University of Vermont,Martin has a wealth of coaching and playing experience. Beforejoining the Wildcat staff, Martin played for the Sheffield HallamUnited Soccer Club (Sheffield, England) in the fall of 1994 andplayed semi-professionally with the Boston Renegades of theUSISL-Women’s League from 1996-98. Martin was inducted intothe UVM Athletic Hall of Fame in October 2006 in recognition of herexcellence as a soccer and softball player for the Catamounts.
A four-year standout on the University ofVermont’s varsity soccer program, Martin was a three-timeAll-New England Team (NEWISA) selection. As team captain in 1992and 1993, Martin was selected to the NSCAA First Team twice. Inaddition, she was a two-time First Team All-North AtlanticConference (NAC) selection and played for the NEWISA NortheastRegion Senior All-Star Team in 1993. Martin was also a member ofUVM’s Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC)championship team in 1989. She excelled in the classroom while atVermont, where she was named to the school’s Dean’sList and to the NAC Academic Honor Roll.
Martin, who holds an NSCAA National Diploma anda USSF ‘B’ coaching license, received herBachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UVM andcompleted her Master’s Degree in Public Administration with aconcentration in Athletic Administration at UVM in March 2000.Martin is a native of Keene (N.H.) and currently resides with herfamily in Hampton (N.H.).
