Women's Soccer Plays Northeastern Thursday, Sept. 5 at Bremner Field (7 p.m.)
DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team hosts Northeastern Thursday, Sept. 5 at Bremner Field. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Links to live stats and video will be available on www.UNHWildcats.com.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE 'CATS: New Hampshire (1-3-0) fell in a road contest at the University of Rhode Island Sunday, Sept. 1, 2-0. The loss dropped the Wildcats to 1-3-0 on the year. Freshman goalie Mimi Borkan (Medfield, Mass.) made her first collegiate start in net, making five saves on the seven shots she faced. Brianna Spitler (Montoursville, Pa.) led the UNH offense with a pair of shots while Kennedy Nickerson (Niantic, Conn.), Tara Fraprie (Farmington, Conn.) and Anna Deweirdt (Seattle, Wash.) each recorded one.
SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE: Kirsten O'Neil (Hampton, N.H.) and Jenna Shaddock (Halifax, Nova Scotia) each have one goal for two points on the season. O'Neil leads the team in shots with six as Shaddock has notched four. Kennedy Nickerson and Kelsi O'Neil (Hampton, N.H.) each have one assist for one point. Anna Deweirdt has tallied four shots on the year as Nickerson, Jordan Logue (Walpole, Mass.), Gabrielle Sloan (Stow, Mass.) and Brianna Spitler each have three shots.
Senior keeper Erica Correa has started each of the three games she has played, holding a record of 1-2-0 with one shutout. She has a 2.14 goals against average and a .600 save percentage. Mimi Borkan has started one of the two games she has appeared in and has a record of 0-1-0. She has made six saves on eight shots faced.
SISTER SISTER: Current Wildcats Kelsi and Kirsten O'Neil are sisters. Kelsi is the older of the two as a senior while Kirsten is a sophomore. Freshman Lilly Radack (Madbury, N.H.) is the younger sister of former Wildcat Rhyan Radack ('08).
LAST TIME OUT FOR NORTHEASTERN: The Huskies (0-3-1) were blanked, 3-0, in their last contest as they hosted South Carolina. NU goalie Paige Burnett made 10 saves on the 13 shots she faced while Lahania Zoller paced the Northeastern attack with a pair of shots.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES: Lahaina Zoller recorded Northeastern's only goal of the season in a 1-1 tie with Northwestern (Aug. 30). She leads the squad with two points. Breeana Koemans has one point on the year as she assisted Zoller on the goal. Hanna Terry leads the team in shots (10) as Morgan Hilby is second in the category with five.
UP NEXT FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Wildcats return to the pitch Sunday, Sept. 8 as they host UMass at 1 p.m.
