Ski Team Welcomes Seven Recruits for 2011-12 Season
DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire ski coordinator and Nordic head coach Cory Schwartz announced the incoming recruits for both the Wildcats’ Nordic and alpine ski teams for the 2011-12 school year Friday. The class features four men’s Nordic skiers, two women’s Nordic skiers and one men’s alpine skier.

DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire women’s Nordic skier Liz Guiney (Park City, Utah) has been selected to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District ® Women’s At-Large First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced Thursday.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire ski team recently held its annual postseason banquet, recognizing its top performers and performances in 2011. The Wildcats’ campaign was highlighted by their eighth-place finish in the NCAA Championships, the school’s top placement in 11 years.

Friends of UNH Skiing Golf Tournament Set for May 14
DURHAM, N.H. – The Friends of UNH Skiing will hold the 2011 UNH Ski Team Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 14, at The Links at Outlook golf course in South Berwick, Maine. The fundraising event, which is open to the public, is a four-person team scramble beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Ten Skiers Named to USCSCA All-Academic Team
DURHAM, N.H. – Ten members of the University of New Hampshire ski team were named to the All Academic Intercollegiate Ski Team presented by the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association (USCSCA). Recipients achieved a 3.5 grade point average in the fall semester and competed in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) Championships.

STOWE, Vt. - UNH junior alpine skier Zach Clayton (Manassas, Va.) finished 10th in the men’s giant slalom to earn All-America status, and the Wildcats posted 188 points to claim eighth place overall after the first day of competition at the 2011 NCAA Skiing Championships, being hosted by the University of Vermont, on Wednesday afternoon.

Guiney Takes Third in U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships Junior 5K Freestyle
RUMFORD, Maine – UNH sophomore Liz Guiney (Park City, Utah) headlined Wildcat performances at the 2011 U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships, held Jan. 2-8 at Chisholm Ski Club, by finishing third in the junior girls 5K freestyle, earning a spot as the first alternate for the U.S. National Team at the upcoming World Junior Championships.

SKIING HOLDING 9TH ANNUAL SKI SALE OCT. 31
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire ski program will hold its Ninth Annual Ski Sale at the UNH Field House on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Skis, boards, skates and apparel, both new and used, will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit to the UNH Ski Program. There will also be a free raffle for New Hampshire ski area passes.
