CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Kate Keagins (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and Hayley Rausch (Severna Park, Md.) of the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team are two of 14 student-athletes on the ballot for the 2011 America East Fans' Choice Player of the Year.

Keagins, a junior midfielder, leads UNH in points (33), assists (13) and shots (70) as well as ground balls (32) and caused turnovers (27); she is also second in goals (20) and fifth in draw controls (14). Keagins leads the America East conference in both caused turnovers and ground balls; she is also ninth in assists per game. Keagins opened the 2011 season with a point in 11 consecutive games; she has tallied a point in 13 of 14 games with nine multiple-point efforts, including seven multiple-goal performances.
Rausch, a junior attack and one of three Wildcat captains, is tied with Keagins for second on the team in goals; she ranks third in points (29), fourth in assists (nine) and second in shots (49). In five America East games, Rausch has tallied 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points. She has tallied a point in 11 of 13 games – including five- and six-game point-scoring streaks – with six multiple-point efforts. Her season highlights include a five-goal, one-assist effort against Boston University that included the game-winning goal in double overtime; both the goal and point (six) totals were personal bests.
UNH (7-7 overall, 2-3 America East) plays its final home game of 2011 against Boston College on April 29 (6 p.m.). The Wildcats conclude the regular season May 1 (12 p.m.) at Binghamton University. The 'Cats will extend their league record of consecutive America East playoff appearances to 14 with a win vs. the Bearcats in that finale.
