DURHAM, N.H.-- Jess Burnap (New Canaan, Conn.), a junior midfielder on the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team, was named Player of the Week (for games played Feb. 20-March 14) by America East on Tuesday.
Burnap recorded a league-high 14 goals as well as 15 points in four games to average 3.75 ppg. She opened the season with a goal and assist against seventh-ranked Dartmouth College, then netted four goals against both 18th-ranked Yale and the University of Connecticut. Burnap followed those consecutive four-goal games with a season-high five goals against Brown. She also contributed six ground balls and seven draw controls, which ranks third on the team.
In 39 career games, Burnap has compiled 69 goals and 20 assists for 89 points.
UNH returns to action March 20 (11 a.m.) at Sacred Heart University. The next Wildcat home game is March 24 vs. Boston College. Game time at Memorial Field is 3:30 p.m.
