Volleyball Raises Over $1,000 at Ninth Annual “Volley for Holly” Tournament

DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team hosted its ninth annual "Volley 4 Holly" tournament on Wednesday, May 7 at Lundholm Gymnasium, raising $1,471 for the Holly Young Fund.

The Holly Young Fund was created to raise money for Wildcat volleyball player Holly Young, who passed away on Jan. 24, 2008 after a courageous three-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. All proceeds raised at the tournament go to the Jimmy Fund in Holly’s name.

A total of 27 teams competed in the tournament, including representatives from all varsity programs and intra-department teams. The volleyball program would also like to thank Libby’s Bar and Grille for donating lunch to the event.
