WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Freshman forward Cassandra Vilgrain (Calgary, Alberta) of the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team was named to the Hockey East Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
In 32 games played – she missed the last two games of the season – Vilgrain recorded nine goals and eight assists for 17 points to tie for second on the team in goals, rank third in points as well as tie for sixth in assists. She also tied for second in power-play goals (three), was third in shooting percentage (.108) and fifth in shots (83).
Vilgrain recorded a point in 14 of 32 games with two multiple-point efforts, including career highs in both assists (two) and points (three) Nov. 10 at the University of Vermont, and a personal-best two goals Jan. 25 at nationally-ranked Boston College.
Vilgrain scored a goal three consecutive games in October as part of a season-best four-game point streak.
In 20 Hockey East league games, Vilgrain tallied 13 points on eight goals and five assists.
