BOSTON--Freshman forward Ray Williams (Mississauga, Ontario) of the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team was named the America East Rookie of the Week for her outstanding efforts in UNH's contests at Hartford and at home vs. Stony Brook.

Williams had her best effort vs. the Seawolves, scoring 14 points and grabbing a career-high 13 rebounds. That marked her fourth double-double of the season. She also had three blocks, three assists and a steal in the key 73-66 conference victory. Williams shot very well from the floor in the contest, hitting 6-11 shots for a shooting percentage of .545. She also led UNH in scoring with 14 points in the team's 71-65 loss at Hartford. Against the Hawks. she connected on 7-11 shots from the floor. For the week, Williams averaged 14.0 ppg. and 7.0 rpg. She is presently the team's second-leading scorer with 8.2 ppg. and she is the squad's second-leading rebounder with an average of 5.9 rpg.

Williams and her teammates will wrap up the regular season this week with a game at Northeastern University on Tuesday, March 2 and the final home game of the season on Friday, March 5, vs. Boston University. Game time is 7 p.m. in Lundholm Gym.
