ORONO, Maine – Sophomore harrier Josh Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) raced to a first-place finish Friday at the University of Maine, powering the University of New Hampshire men’s cross country team to a victory over Maine.
Kearns finished the race in a time of 25 minutes, 28 seconds.
Dylan McGuffin (Northfield, N.H.) finished in fourth place for the Wildcats, posting a time of 26:35. Wesley Moseman (26:49) and Nicholas DeCrescenzo (26:54) finished sixth and seventh for the ‘Cats, while senior Jesse Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Patrick Rush rounded out the top 10 with times of 27:00 and 27:02, respectively.
The ‘Cats scored 26 points, while the Black Bears tallied 29.
The Wildcats race again when they return to Orono on Sept. 29 at
10 a.m. for the Murray Keatinge Invitational.
