MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD SPARKLES AT DRAKE RELAYS

DES MOINES, Iowa
– Senior Robert Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.) ran to a first-place finish to highlight the weekend for the University of New Hampshire men’s outdoor track and field team at the prestigious 99th Annual Drake Relays at Drake Stadium on April 24-26.
   
Edgerton, who has garnered the last two America East Men’s Track Performer of the Week awards, finished first in the 1,500-meters in a time of three minutes, 49.79 seconds, beating out the runner-up by 12-hundreths of a second.
   
Fellow senior Jordan Horwitz (Evanston, Ill.) also submitted a solid performance, placing third in the 10,000-meters in a time of 31:14.78.
   
The Wildcats were not done there, however, as they finished third in the sprint medley, with seniors Travis Parker (Fairfax, Va.) and Edgerton, junior Matthew Begley (Brookville, Md.) and sophomore Will Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.) completing the event in 3:22.96.
   
The ‘Cats also placed 25th in the 4x400-meter relay, with the team of Parker, Begley, Brehm and junior Ben Stein (Canton, Mass.) finishing in 3:17.96.
   
The Wildcats will return to action at the America East championships May 3-4 at the Beckett Track and Field Complex in Orono, Maine.
