EDGERTON CAPTURES SECOND STRAIGHT WEEKLY CONFERENCE AWARD
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The America East conference announced Wednesday that senior Robert Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.), of the University of New Hampshire men’s outdoor track and field team, has been named America East Men’s Track Performer of the Week for the week ending April 21. This marks the second straight week Edgerton has won the award after taking home the honor April 14.

Edgerton completed at the Dartmouth College Outdoor Meet on April 19, where he won the 800-meters and set a school record by finishing in an NCAA East Regional-qualifying time of one minute, 49.41 seconds, which was nearly two seconds faster than the runner-up. The NCAA East Regional will take place May 30-31 at Florida State University.

Edgerton garnered the award last week by winning the 1,500-meters in a time of three minutes, 46.62 seconds at the Wildcat Invitational II on April 12. He also broke that school record and qualified for the NCAA East Regional in that event.

Edgerton, who was named America East Most Outstanding Track Performer during the indoor season, won conference titles in the mile and 1,000-meters and a New England championship in the mile.

Edgerton returns to action April 24-26 at the Drake Relays, while the rest of the Wildcats will host the Wildcat Invitational III on April 26 at 11 a.m. at Reggie F. Atkins Track.
