– Freshman Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.), senior Bobby Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.) and sophomore Wesley Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) each posted top-ten performances for the University of New Hampshire men’s outdoor track and field team at the ICAAAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Princeton University’s Weaver Stadium on May 16-18.

With nine points, the Wildcats finished 30th out of 51 teams, while Liberty University won the meet with 62 points.

Paey placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 16.12 meters.

After beating out 36 other runners to claim the top spot in the preliminary round of the 800-meters in a time of one minute, 48.80 seconds, Edgerton finished sixth in the final in a time of 1:51.13.

Dinnan placed eighth in the 10,000-meters in a time of 30:39.21. Junior Brent Powers (Remsden, N.Y.) finished 18th in 31:27.32.

The Wildcats’ 4x400-meter relay team finished 15th in the preliminaries in a time of 3:14.89.

Senior Jordan Horwitz (Evanston, Ill.) ran to a 17th-place finish in the 5,000-meters in a time of 14:34.36.

Senior Matt O’Connor (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) also submitted a 17th-place showing, completing the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:13.31.

In the javelin, freshman Mike Simon (Bethel, Conn.) and sophomore Chris Morgan (Goffstown, N.H.) placed 21st and 28th, respectively, with throws of 56.49 and 55.20 meters.

Five Wildcats, including Paey, Edgerton, O’Connor, Simon and sophomore Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) from the women’s side, will return to action May 30-31 at the NCAA East Regional at Florida State’s Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla. The top five in each event will move on to the NCAA national championship June 11-15 at Drake University’s Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
