HANOVER, N.H. - Travis Parker (Fairfax, Va.) highlighted New Hampshire's trip to the Dartmouth Invitational with two wins on April 23. Parker won the 200-meter and 400-meter events. He ran the 200 in 22.28 seconds and sprinted to victory in the 400 with a time of 48.42.
Craig Stucchi (Southborough, Mass.) brought home a victory for UNH when he threw for 52.53 meters in the hammer throw event. William Smith (Hampstead, N.H.) won the 800-meter event with a time of 1:56.18. Tony Truax (Dover, N.H.) won the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 9:16.39. Erik Lundquist (Londonderry, N.H.) won the discus throw with a toss of 42.21 meters and added a fourth place finish in the shot put event. Josh Edwards (Pelham, N.H.) finished just ahead of Lundquist in the shot put in third place.
Dave Benedetto (Alton, N.H.) took second place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.26 then took third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.10. Tyler Danen (Oconomowoc, Wis.) took second in the high jump, clearing 1.98 meters. Matt Begley (Brookeville, Md.) tied for second in the pole vault, clearing 4.12 meters. Dave Ciasulli (Hampton, N.H.) took second in the long jump event with a leap of 6.27 meters.
David Bailey (Bronx, N.Y.) was third in the 100-meter dash. Robert Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.) also had a third place finish in the 1500-meter event. Jeff Manley (Milton, Vt.) was fourth in the 5000-meter run for the Wildcats.
Select members of the team will compete at the Penn Relays on Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 28, then the entire team will compete at the UConn Invitational on Saturday, April 30.
