New Hampshire men’s track runs at New Englands

STORRS, Conn. — The University of New Hampshire men’s track team received strong performances from seniors Dan Hocking (Merrimack, N.H.) and Matthew Barnard (Hebron, N.H.) at Saturday’s New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Connecticut.

The men finished 22nd as a team but had two runners finish in the top eight in the 5,000 and 10,000m. Barnard was third in the 10,000m with a time of 31:38.69 and Hocking was sixth in the 5,000m with a time of 14:57.51.

UConn won the meet with 120 points.

Junior Mike Puzzo (East Hampton, Conn.) finished ninth in the javelin with a throw of 190 feet, one inch, qualifying him for the IC4A Championships.

The Wildcats will take part in the IC4A’s at Princeton University starting May 18th.
