– The 4x400 meter relay team placed second and senior Robert Edgerton (Cornish, N.H.) had a seventh-place finish to highlight the Valentine Invitation for the University of New Hampshire men’s indoor track and field team. The meet was held at the Track and Tennis Center on the campus of Boston University on Feb. 8 and 9 and was a high school/college/open meet.

The relay team beat out 51 other teams with a time of three minutes, 15.49 seconds. Adams State won the event in a time of 3:15.22.

Edgerton placed seventh in the 3,000 meters, finishing in a time of 8:13.01. Junior Matthew O’Connor (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) and senior Jordan Horwitz (Evanston, Ill.) finished 11th and 13th, respectively, finishing in 8:18.01 and 8:20.38.

Sophomore Patrick Casey (So. Yarmouth, Mass.) finished 11th in the high jump, posting a leap of 1.93 meters, the second best mark of the event.

In the pole vault, sophomore David Dreyer (LeRoy, N.Y.) and junior Matthew Begley (Brookeville, Md.) tied for 17th with leaps of 4.35 meters.
Junior Ben Stein (Canton, Mass.) and freshman Jacob McDougle (Walpole, N.H.) finished 21st and 26th, respectively, in times of 1:05.93 and 1:06.57.
Junior Ben Jenkins (Francestown, N.H.) placed 23rd in the 800 meters, finishing in a time of 1:54.30.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Feb. 16 at noon when they take part in a dual meet with Dartmouth and Vermont at the Leverone Field House in Hanover, N.H.
