Durham, N.H. - Freshman James Myles (Merrimack, NH) won the 55m hurdles and long jump and placed second 55m dash to propel the UNH men's indoor track team to victory with a score of 151 over the University of Massachusetts (121) and Holy Cross (79).
Myles finished with a time of 7.84 in the 55m hurdle event and won the long jump with a distance of 6.59m. He then took a second place finish in the 55m dash with a time of 6.70. David Ciasulli (Hampton, NH) finished two spots behind Myles in the long jump with a third place finish.
Travis Parker (Fairfax, VA) took home two wins as well for the Wildcats. He won the 200m in 23.21 seconds and the 400m with a time of 51.09. David Benedetto (Alton, NH) took a third place finish in the same 400m event. Robert Edgerton (Cornish, NH) won the 800m run for UNH with a time of 1:59.91.
UNH dominated two events, taking the top three spots in both the pole vault and shot put. Matt Berry (Atlanta, GA) won the pole vault, clearing 4.34m. Van Truong (Shrewsbury, MA) and Matt Begley (Brookeville, MD) placed second and third, respectively. The shot put was won by Erik Lundquist (Londonderry, NH), throwing a distance of 14.71m. Finishing right behind him was Joshua Edwards (Pelham, NH) and Reed Liset (Dover, NH).
Tyler Danen (Oconomowoc, WI) won the high jump event with David Doiron (Sanford, ME) finishing two places behind him for third.
The Wildcats took home victories in both relay events, capturing first place in the 4x800m with a time of 8:00.86. Their time of 3:29.79 was good enough to win the 4x400m event.
The 1000m event saw two Wildcats in the top three with Evan Bercume (Spencer, MA) taking second place and Ben Danton (New Milford, CT) coming in third. The same was true for the weight throw event. Craig Stucchi (Southborough, MA) and Liset finished second and third.
William Smith (Hampstead, NH) took second in the 500m run with a time of 1:08.18. Two Wildcats placed in the top four in the 1000m event. Tony Truax (Dover, NH) took a second place finish with Matt Crouteau (Manchester, NH) taking fourth. Jordan Horwitz (Evanston, IL) took home a third place finish in the 3000m event.
The Wildcats are back in action next Friday when they compete at the Husky Invitational.
