DURHAM, N.H. - The indoor track team at the University of New Hampshire placed first out of eight teams on Saturday afternoon in its season-opener at Boston University.
The Wildcats led the way with 93 points, followed by CCSU (64), Boston University (61), UMass-Amherst (56), Maine (54), Providence (28), and Bentley (3).
First-place finishes for the ‘Cats were recorded by Jason Marshall in the high hurdles (7.75) and by Greg Hillson in the pole vault (4.27m). UNH took the top three spots in that event with Jared Burke placing second and Robert Whitten taking third with all three at the same height.
In addition, Andy Thompson, Chad Weathers and Mike Puzzo, took second, third and fourth in the weight throw.
The men’s and women’s teams will both return to action on Dec. 8-9 at Maine.
