DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire men’s track and field team will have nine representatives at this weekend’s Inter-Collegiate Amateur Athletic Associaton of America (ICAAAA) meet on March 3-5 at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Leading the way for UNH will be Tim Lyons (Wakefield, Mass.), Andrew Thompson (Freedom, N.H.) and Chad Weathers (Conway, N.H.) all of whom will be competing in the 35lb. weight throw. The mile run will have two participants from UNH, as Daniel Hocking (Merrimack, N.H.) and Kevin Horgan (Ashburnham, Mass.) both qualified for the event. The 55 meter high hurdles will also have two Wildcat representatives. Jason Marshall (Piscataway,N.J.) and 1999 America East champion in the event John Barry (Nashua, N.H.) will be competing. Rounding out the UNH squad traveling to Virginia will be Kyle Schneck (Concord, N.H.), who will be running the 800m, and two-time America East and reigning New England Champion Jamison Whiting (Salem, N.H.) in the pole vault.
The ICAAAA is the only meet left before the NCAA Championships on March 9-11 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the University of Arkansas.
