SAN DIEGO, Calif. – University of New Hampshire track and field alum Cameron Lyle was awarded the NCAA Award of Valor at the NCAA Honors Celebration on Friday, Jan. 19 in San Diego, Calif.
The NCAA Award of Valor is presented annually to a current or former varsity letter-winner at an NCAA institution who, when confronted with a situation involving personal danger, averted or minimized potential disaster by courageous action or noteworthy bravery.
Lyle, a distinguished thrower during his four-year career with UNH, decided to forgo the remainder of his senior-year of eligibility last season to donate bone marrow to a complete stranger battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
