CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior John Prizzi (Wyckoff, N.J.) of the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team was named America East Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Prizzi was named men's Track Athlete of the Week after placing first in the 3000-meter run during Northeastern University's Jay Carisella Carnival, Saturday evening at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass.
Prizzi posted a NEICAAA provisional qualifying time of eight-minutes and 27.33-seconds to capture first place in the 3000m. His time is the third fastest time in the America East so far this season and ranks 14th nationally.
The Wildcats have a month-long break for the holidays, but will return to action Jan. 18th when they host Holy Cross for a dual-meet.
