Men's Track & Field Takes Second at Joe Donahue Games

BOSTON – Junior Kevin Greene (Silver Spring, Md.) picked up his second individual victory in as many weeks to lead the University of New Hampshire men's track & field team to a runner-up finish at the Joe Donahue Games Friday evening at the Reggie Lewis Center.

The Wildcats racked up 98 points, while Brown captured the meet with a total of 104 points.

Greene cruised to a first-place finish in the mile in an IC4A-qualifying time of 4:12.75. Greene also qualified for the IC4As in the 800 meters last week after a first-place finish in the event against Holy Cross. Senior Cory Sinotte (Manchester, N.H.) added a third-place finish in the mile at 4:18.28.

Additionally, the Wildcats' 4x800 meter relay team of sophomore Timothy Brown (Southington, Conn.), sophomore Zachary Chabot (Manchester, N.H.), senior David Gervais (Nashua, N.H.) and freshman Luke Miller (Birdsboro, Pa.) finished first in a time of 7:57.37.

In the field, freshman Dylan Pelletier added a pair of runner-up finishes in the long jump and triple jump with leaps of 16-6.25 and 41-7.00, respectively.  
 
Back on the track, sophomore James Anderson (Melrose, Mass.) picked up a third-place finish in the 800 meters as he crossed the finish line in a New England-qualifying time of 1:55.36.

In the 3,000 meters, sophomore John Prizzi (Wycoff, N.J.) picked up a third-place finish with a time of 8:41.29.

Senior Victor Adejuyigbe (Penacook, N.H.) finished fourth in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.09 to qualify for the New England Championships, while sophomore Andrew Albin (Bethel, Conn.) also added a fourth-place finish in the 500 meters in a time of 1:07.91.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they participate in the URI Invitational at noon.
