Track & Field’s Letourneau and Paey Collect Weekly AE Awards

DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field graduate student Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) was named the America East Track Performer of the Week, while on the men's side, senior Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) picked up America East Field Performer of the Week accolades, announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

At New Hampshire's home quad-meet over the weekend, Letourneau turned in a time of 2:48.16 in the 1,000 meter run to qualify for the ECAC Championship and break a school and New Hampshire facility record. The previous record was set in 2002. Letourneau has picked up three wins this season in three different events as she also finished first in the mile and 3,000-meter run earlier in the season.

Paey remained a force in the shot put this weekend as he picked up his third-straight win in the event. He topped the field with a toss of 58-06.50. The throw was Paey's best toss of the season (tops in the America East) and also reached the NCAA Division I provisional mark for the automatic qualifier in the event.

Letourneau, Paey and the rest of the UNH track & field team return to action on Friday, Jan. 27 when both sides compete at the Boston Indoor Games at the Reggie Lewis Center.
