DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team has released its spring schedule for the upcoming 2011 season.
The five-game slate opens up with a 7 p.m. matchup against Southern New Hampshire University (March 25) at Cowell Stadium. The Wildcats continue their spring schedule the following weekend against Bentley College (April 2) at Cowell Stadium with kickoff set for 2 p.m.
New Hampshire wraps up its home schedule with a pair of matchups on Bremner Field, as the 'Cats host UMass Lowell (April 8) and Franklin Pierce (April 15), with kickoffs set for 7 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. Five days later, the Wildcats conclude their spring schedule with a 7 p.m. contest against SNHU (April 20) on the road.
New Hampshire wrapped up its 2010 campaign with a 9-5-6 record, recording its second straight nine-win campaign, competing in the America East tournament for the sixth time in the last eight years. Despite falling 5-4 on penalty kicks to UMBC (Nov. 13) in the America East Championship game, the Wildcats held the Retrievers scoreless through regulation and both overtime periods, marking the third consecutive team they shut out in the conference tournament, as they also blanked Binghamton (Nov. 6) and Boston University (Nov. 10). The impressive mark makes UNH the first team ever to record three shutouts in the conference tournament.
