DURHAM, N.H.– The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team gathered together for its annual banquet Sat., April 4 at Holloway Commons.  Seven seniors were honored for their careers as a Wildcat.

     The team’s seven seniors Dan Cripe (Raymond, N.H.), A.J. Dubois (Acworth, N.H.), Mike McKee (Newton, Pa.), Scott Rowling (Richboro, Pa.), Joey Twum-Barima (Essex, England), Kyle Urso (Lombard, Ill.), and Richie Weinrebe (East Providence, RI) were celebrated for their contributions to the team. The seniors posted an overall four-year record of 33-22-19.

     Five players earned awards, as voted on by their teammates, for their contributions to the program during the 2008 season. Urso, a midfielder, earned the Robert Black Award as the team's most valuable player. Urso, an America-East first team and NSCAA All-Region honoree in 2008, started 64 games over his career, and was named to the Academic All-Region team for his achievements in the classroom. 
     The Glenn Aborn Award for the team's most improved player was given to sophomore Marcus Barr (Wallingford, Pa.). Barr appeared in 17 games, including seven starts and registered 10 shots.
Rowling received the Walter Weiland Award as the team's most dedicated player. Starting in all 15 games in the fall, Rowling was named to the UVM Smith Barney Classic All-Tournament Team, the Bucknell Invitational All-Tournament Team and to the America-East Honor Roll.
     McKee earned the Harvey Johnson Award as the team's most inspirational player. McKee started 12 games this fall. He was named to the UNH Fall Classic All-Tournament Team and scored in the Wildcats’ 2-1 win over Cornell.
     Sophomore Joe Corsello (York, Maine) earned the H. Richard Sandler Award for academic achievement. This past fall, Corsello posted the highest GPA of any student-athlete in the program. Corsello, who played in 15, including 10 starts, posted a goal against Boston University and had the game-winner over Cornell.
