DURHAM, N.H.- University of New Hampshire men’s soccer team head coach Rob Thompson recently announced the 2008 fall soccer schedule.
    The schedule is highlighted by games with five 2007 NCAA tournament teams. The Wildcats played nine NCAA tournament teams in 2007 and finished 5-5-9 with a Rate Percentage Index (RPI) of 53.
    The Wildcats open up the season August 29 by hosting the 19th annual UNH Nike Fall Soccer Classic and will face Adelphi and Rhode Island during the weekend. UNH follows with a four-game road trip, participating in the Smith Barney Classic in Vermont and the Bucknell Invitational.
    The team returns home to face UMASS, who won the Atlantic-10 and advanced to the 2007 Final Four. The Wildcats will sandwich Ivy League rivals, Harvard (Sept. 23) and Dartmouth (Nov. 4), around the America East portion of the schedule.
America East action will begin with a game at Hartford (Oct. 4) before returning home for two games against Maine (Oct. 8) and a Homecoming game with Albany on Oct. 11.
    The team will travel to Vermont on Oct. 15 to play the Catamounts before retuning home to host Boston University on Oct. 18. UNH has a tough two-game road trip to New York first facing Stony Brook (Oct. 22) and then Binghamton (Oct. 25). The Wildcats will celebrate senior day Oct. 29 in their final home game of the season against the UMBC Retrievers.
