After completing its spring season, the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team gathered together for its annual banquet on Sunday, April 30, at which time five players earned awards for their contributions to the program during the 2005 season.


The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team will face three teams that qualified for the 2005 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship among its 18 games on the 2006 schedule, released by head coach Rob Thompson.


EPPING, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team finished its spring season on Saturday, April 29, losing to Brown University, 1-0, and beating St. Anselm's, 2-0, in the first annual Seacoast United College Jamboree.


DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire men's soccer head coach Rob Thompson has announced that four incoming student-athletes have enrolled in school for the 2006-07 academic year and plan to join the Wildcat soccer program.


After a scoreless first half, the Phantoms scored in the second half when a defensive breakdown led to a counter and eventual strike from the top of the box. Junior Matt Low (Salem, N.H.) played a short pass to freshmen Kyle Urso (Lombard, Ill.), who then drove a low shot through traffic. The Phantoms' goalie made the initial save but junior Ross Fishbain (Racine, Wisc.) finished the rebound from five yards out for his second goal this spring.


UNH is now 3-0-1 so far during the spring season and has outscored its opponents, 5-0, during the four matches.


The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team opened its 2006 spring campaign playing New Hampshire's USL Division 2 professional team, the NH Phantoms, to a 0-0 tie March 24 on Bremner Field.

KINGSTON, R.I. — After a record-setting season as one of the top goalies in the country, University of New Hampshire junior goalkeeper Brian Levey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) has been named First Team All-New England by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).


WALTHAM, Mass. - For his performance both in the classroom and on the soccer field, University of New Hampshire junior Matt Shump (Durham, N.H) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Third Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Wildcats will face Iona College on Friday, Sept. 2, at 4:00 p.m. and Quinnipiac University on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. Vermont, the fourth team participating in the tournament, will face Quinnipiac on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and Iona on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
