EPPING, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team finished its spring season on Saturday, April 29, losing to Brown University, 1-0, and beating St. Anselm's, 2-0, in the first annual Seacoast United College Jamboree.

The Wildcats suffered an own goal in the second half in the loss to Brown. Goalkeeper Brian Levey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) played the entire game in net. The game was arguably the most physical game of the year. Both teams had opportunities to score, but the ball bounced Brown's way.

In the second game against St. Anselm's, UNH would score a goal in each half. In the first stanza, freshmen Kyle Urso (Lombard, Ill.) volleyed in a cross from fellow classmate Dan Cripe (Raymond, N.H.). It was Urso's team-leading third goal of the spring. The goal also marks the second time Urso and Cripe combined for a goal.

Midway through the second half, sophomore Derek Bragg (Downington, Pa.) put away a loose ball in the box for his first goal of the spring. Michael Jenne (Vernon, N.Y.) collected the shutout in goal for the Wildcats.

UNH finishes the spring season with a 4-1-2 record. The Wildcats continue to be strong defensively, collecting five shutouts and surrendering only two goals. The men's soccer team opens up their 2006 fall season with the 17th Annual Nike Soccer Classic when they host Cal Poly on Friday, August 25, and St. Peter's on Sunday, August 27.
