Skiing Honors Two-Time All-American & Skimeister Champions John and Kim Kendall

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire ski team held its annual alumni recognition event at the Whittemore Center during the Nov. 16 men's hockey game against Northeastern. Brothers John and Kim Kendall, who each were two-time All-Americans and NCAA Skimeister national champions, were honored in a ceremony held in the Skybox Lounge.

John Kendall, who attended the ceremony, was an All-American and NCAA Skimeister national champion during the 1970 and 1971 seasons. Kim Kendall earned All-American and Skimeister recognition in 1972 and 1973.

"We are proud to once again recognize great skiers of the past, John and Kim Kendall," Cory Schwartz, UNH ski coordinator and Nordic head coach, said. "The Kendall brothers dominated the Skimeister event for four years in the East and at NCAAs."

"This is unprecedented in UNH's history to have four individual champions," Schwartz added. "These great skiers laid the foundation for our skiers to strive for. The Wildcat ski program has produced 12 U.S. Ski Team members, 13 Olympians, 10 national champions and 43 All-Americans."

The UNH skiing team opens the 2014 EISA season with the Vermont Carnival alpine races Jan. 10-11, and the first Nordic races of the season are scheduled for the Colby Carnival (Jan. 17-18). For more information, visit
