Men’s Hockey’s Goumas Tabbed Warrior Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Senior forward Kevin Goumas (Long Beach, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named the Warrior Hockey Player of the Week as announced by Hockey East on Monday.

Goumas recorded five points on one goal and four assists in a split weekend series at Merrimack. In Friday's 4-2 loss, he recorded one assist. In the 5-2 win on Saturday, he notched three assists and a goal to help lead UNH to home-ice as the fourth seed in the Hockey East quarterfinals. His third assist of Saturday was the 100th of his career, making him just the 16th player in program history to achieve the feat. He finished the weekend with seven shots on goal.

The fourth-seeded Wildcats have a bye-week before returning to the ice to host the fifth-seeded Northeastern Huskies in the Hockey East quarterfinals. The first game is set for Friday, March 14 at 7 p.m.
