WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Senior forward Nick Sorkin (Rockville, Md.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was awarded the Warrior Hockey Player of the Week accolade as announced by Hockey East Monday morning.
Sorkin recorded five points on three goals and two assists in two games over the weekend as the Wildcats completed a sweep of Colorado College on the road. In the 6-2 win in game one, the senior recorded a pair of goals while recording four shots. He notched the game-winning goal in a 3-0 shutout the following day and assisted on the second and third goals. His game winner came on a power play. The two goals in the first game matched a career high for Sorkin, first achieved against St. Could State on Oct. 22, 2011.
