The UNH men’s hockey team visits multiple classrooms, including Woodman Park Elementary School in Dover, N.H., every season.
Woodman Park teacher and UNH Alumni Lisa Simko expressed, “When the UNH hockey players visit our classroom, they are part of the learning process and my students are thrilled to interact with young adults that are not only successful athletes, but also successful students.”
Over the past few years, the Wildcats also were involved in a UNH-original program called “Operation Hat Trick” where hats were donated to wounded veterans.
In 2009-10, Bobby Butler was among a group of 18 college hockey players nominated for the 2010 BNY Mellon Wealth Management Hockey Humanitarian Award. The award honors college hockey’s finest citizen, someone who gives back to his or her community.
