Former Men's Hockey Player van Riemsdyk Added to 2011 U.S. Men's National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey  announced Saturday that forward James van Riemsdyk (Middletown, N.J./Philadelphia Flyers/University of New Hampshire) has been added to the roster of 2011 U.S. Men's National Team that is currently competing at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship, in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia.

The Philadelphia Flyers' forward will be making his sixth U.S. national team appearance, having previously competed at three IIHF World Junior Championships (2009; 2008; 2007-bronze) and two IIHF World Men's U18 Championships (2007-silver; 2006-gold). Van Riemsdyk spent two seasons (2005-07) with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program.

The U.S. next faces Switzerland on Monday (May 9) at 10:15 a.m. EDT in its final qualification-round game. The game will be broadcast live on Versus and scoring updates will be available on Twitter by following #2011WMC.
