WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Freshman forward Kevin Goumas (Lake Worth, Fla.) of the seventh-ranked University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week. The announcement was made Monday by the league office. Goumas earns this award for the second straight week and third time in the last four weeks, as he also won Feb. 7 and 21.
Goumas registered a goal and three assists on the weekend for the Wildcats. He tallied the game-tying goal in the third period to help UNH capture a 2-2 tie with Northeastern on Friday night and handed out a career-high three assists Saturday night in a 6-3 win over the Huskies. Goumas was a +3 on the weekend with seven shots on net.
UNH returns to action March 4-5 for a home-and-home series with No. 2 Boston College.
