Manz Headlines Group of 10 Men's Hockey All-Academic Honorees
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – The Hockey East Association announced Wednesday, June 15, the University of New Hampshire men's hockey program placed 10 of its student-athletes on the 85-player Hockey East All-Academic Team.

Former UNH Men’s Hockey Standouts Butler, Aikins Capture Titles
DURHAM, N.H. -- Former University of New Hampshire men’s hockey standout Bobby Butler (Marlboro, Mass.) helped lead the Binghamton Senators to the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Calder Cup title. Butler scored the game-tying goal in Binghamton’s 3-2 win over the Houston Aeros on Tuesday night in game six. Additionally, former Wildcat Justin Aikins (White Rock, British Columbia) helped lead the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs to the President’s Cup Championship of the Central Hockey League (CHL).

Men's Hockey Unveils 2011-12 Recruiting Class

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senior Paul Thompson (Derry, N.H.) and junior defenseman Blake Kessel (Verona, Wis.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team were selected to the Division I RBK All-America team on Friday night as chosen by the American Hockey Coaches Association at the Frozen Four at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. Both Kessel and Thompson were named as first team All-America selections.

10TH-RANKED MEN'S HOCKEY TRAVELS TO #14 CORNELL ON FRIDAY
DURHAM, N.H. --The 10th-ranked University of New Hampshire men's hockey team looks to build on its three-game unbeaten streak as it travels to 14th-ranked Cornell University on Friday night in Ithaca, N.Y. The game will serve as the season opener for the Big Red. The teams split a pair of games a year ago, including UNH's 6-2 win over Cornell in the NCAA East Regionals.

DIGIROLAMO FETED AS HOCKEY EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Junior goaltender Matt DiGirolamo (Ambler, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team was named Hockey East Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement was made Monday by the league office. DiGirolamo earns this award for the first time in his career and the first time a UNH player collected this honor since Brian Foster did so Jan. 25.

DURHAM, N.H. -- Coming off a split at Miami, the ninth-ranked University of New Hampshire men's hockey team welcomes in third-ranked University of Michigan for a single non-conference game on Saturday at 7 p.m at the Whitt. The Wildcats and Wolverines are two of the most storied programs in college hockey with the two longest active NCAA appearance streaks. UM has been to 20-straight NCAA's, while New Hampshire has been to nine in a row.

OXFORD, OHIO – Five different players accounted for three even-strength, a power play and a short-handed goals in a five-goal second period to lift the eighth-ranked University of New Hampshire men's ice hockey team to a 6-3 win over No. 3 Miami University in the series finale Saturday night at Goggin Ice Center. New Hampshire had six different goal scorers accounting for its six goals.

OXFORD, OHIO – Phil DeSimone (East Amherst, N.Y.) registered a goal and two assists, but the University of New Hampshire eighth-ranked men's ice hockey team fell, 6-3, to No. 3 Miami University in the season opener Friday night at Goggin Ice Center. New Hampshire trailed 4-3 with under two minutes to play but a power play and empty-net goal sealed the win for Miami.
