UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE ANNOUNCES 10-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH LEARFIELD SPORTS
DURHAM, N.H.– The University of New Hampshire announced today that Learfield Sports has become its first-ever, exclusive athletics multimedia partner, effective with the 2008-09 academic year.
The 10-year agreement calls for Learfield Sports to establish a locally based entity, known as “Wildcat Sports Properties” (WSP), to manage and sell UNH Athletics’ multimedia rights that include all signage at the Whittemore Center, Cowell Stadium and Lundholm Gym. In addition to its athletic venues, Learfield Sports will oversee UNH Athletics’ radio rights, corporate hospitality, print sponsorships, event marketing, certain television rights and official athletic Web site advertising for unhwildcats.com. New Hampshire joins Maine as a Hockey East and America East Conference member school whose rights are managed by Learfield Sports.

Learfield Sports manages the multimedia rights for nearly 40 collegiate institutions and associations, and the company also manages the marketing partnerships for the Black Coaches & Administrators (BCA). Additionally, it provides exclusive sports programming to more than 1,000 radio stations throughout the country and Team Services, LLC, a Learfield Sports company, specializes in venue naming rights, marketing research and sales consultation.
Dallas-based Learfield Sports is an operating unit of Jefferson City, Mo.-based Learfield Communications, Inc., which made its initial foray into the world of sports marketing in 1975 as the radio rights holder for the University of Missouri, a client still today.
