DURHAM, N.H. – Head coach Bill Herrion of the University of New Hampshire men's basketball program is pleased to announce the signing of Jacoby Armstrong (Sachse, Texas) to a National Letter of Intent (NLI) for the 2013-14 season. The signing came on the first day of the spring signing period.
"We're really happy to have Jacoby join our basketball program at UNH," Herrion said. "He fills a need that we had with this recruiting class. He's a versatile front-court player with size and physical strength. We feel he's got a great future at UNH."
Armstrong, a 6-foot, 6-inch, 220-pound power forward, joins the Wildcats after tallying 19.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game at Wylie High School (Texas). In each of the past three seasons, he was tabbed the team's most valuable player while also being named to the First-Team All District in those same seasons.
During his senior year, Armstrong was named the District 10 4A MVP. He was also a member of the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region Team.
Armstrong joins Daniel Dion (Cedar Park, Texas; 6-0 guard) and John Edwards (Charlotte, N.C.; 6-6 forward), who signed during the early signing period.
