WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior Alvin Abreu (Lynn, Mass.), freshman Ferg Myrick (Philadelphia, Pa.) and sophomore Brian Benson (Rochester, N.Y.) were all honored at America East's annual awards banquet Friday afternoon at the Harry Jack Gray Center on the campus of the University of Hartford.

Abreu, who ranks seventh in the league at 14.6 points per game, was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team. Abreu makes his first All-Conference Team after earning All-Rookie honors two seasons ago.

Myrick, who ranks third in scoring among the league's freshman at 7.4 ppg, was selected to the All-Rookie Team. Myrick has scored in double figures in three of his last four games, averaging 11.5 ppg during that span.

Benson garnered All-Academic Team honors, marking the second straight season a Wildcat has made the five-member squad. Benson is a kinesiology: pedagogy major with a 3.47 grade point average.

The sixth-seeded Wildcats return to action Saturday, March 6 at 8:15 p.m. when they take on No. 3 Maine in the quarterfinal round of the America East Championship at Hartford's Chase Arena.
